To meet the demands of the food industry, the entire carton production hall of Ekman's is a hygiene zone. The production hall is optimally planned, with buffer zones between the printing and die-cut departments, and between the die-cut and glue departments. Thanks to this arrangement we have a very smooth production flow.
At Ekman's we have three Heidelberg printing presses with 6-colours and water-based laquer. In one of our printing presses we have also in-line UV-laquer. Our printing presses have a high and up-to-date technology and a capacity of up to 18 000 sheets per hour.
We have four die-cut machines with non-stop pallet changes. The die-cut machines are also equipped with a cleaning tool for waste removal. This waste is automatically taken care of and recycled.
We have also separation tools separating cardboard blanks from each other. The machines have a capacity of up to 9 000 sheets per hour.
We supply plane cardboard blanks or pre-glued capsules to meet the demands of our customers. We have four gluing machines that can produce up to 150 000 pcs/hour. During 2010 we will increase the rate of automation by, among other things, using palletizing robots.
