Specialists celebrate 60 years in business

Mo Industri AB, which is part of the Trioplast Group, is located in Bottnaryd, a small village in Småland with about 700 inhabitants. The company has been part of the village since 1957, when Sören Rylander started the plastic bag production business in Bottnaryd’s old poorhouse. At that time, two Wiedmann bag machines accounted for the entire production. Today, 60 years later, most things look very different – the factory premises, the size of the workforce, the number of machines and what is produced.

Now, production focuses on tailor-made products for companies that operate in two of the most demanding segments of the market, namely the pharmaceutical and food industries. In both industries, high demands are placed on selected suppliers in terms of certification, hygiene and safety. One such requirement is that packaging does not release acids or other substances which may contaminate medicine or food.

Specialists in tailor-made solutions
The 30 people working at the small factory in Bottnaryd today are all specialists in the unique products that are delivered to major international companies such as Astra Zeneca, Tetra Pak, KABI Fresenius and Dafgård. “The aim has never been to be the biggest, rather to be the best at what we do. This is achieved by getting our product development completely in line with the needs of our customers,” says Mo Industri’s CEO Bo Kampf. He comments that product development takes place in close cooperation with customers and that it is tailor-made down to the smallest detail and often for small series and low volumes.

Environment and sustainability are a priority
“We sort waste into a large number of different fractions and send all our production waste to other units within the Trioplast Group for recycling. Being environmentally aware is a matter of course for us at Mo Industri and creating a thoroughly sustainable production process is the goal,” he says.
